Summer Learning Journey - My Family Found A Treasure Chest With Real Gold...

Gold, Diamonds And Crystals Are So Expensive. If you find even one you might be such a lucky duck! Today my family found something very special... A treasure map. Let me tell you the whole story. Well it started when my parents we going through some old things to find something that could give them money. As you guys know I hate when they do boring stuff like that. So I looked at today's activity and saw one of our tasks was to create a treasure map. So I thought of creating a treasure map and secretly putting the treasure map into my parents company files. So they would stop their boring company organization day and go on a treasure quest. I asked my parents to spend summer FUN with me but they said NO and kept looking through their company files. They saw my treasure map which I printed out. Let me tell you today's activity... Well it's about creating a treasure map and searching it with our family. But my family are always busy. So that's why I thought of creating this sneaky plan. I used this app called PhotoMania. You can use different filters and create a photo of you or a place like in a cartoon, painting or anything else. Miss Hickling my teacher from last year taught us how to use it. So that's how I made my treasure map look like an original sketch. I printed it out and I asked my parents early in the morning if I could go to my friends house and they agreed and I talked to my friend about this and she helped me. We went to different places on my map with her parents permission. This happened before my parents checked their company files. When I arrived at home my parents were looking through and checking their company files and in one they found my treasure map which led to the Botanical Gardens. We had to climb a tree my parents are not such good tree climbers. So I climbed the tree. I got the treasure map and came down. The next part of the treasure map led to Captain Morgan's and it said to order an strawberry ice-cream. So we did and without my parents knowing I put the treasure map deep down under the ice-cream and finally when we finished it we saw the next part of the treasure map which led to Waikanae Beach. So we ran over and got into digging and found the last part of the treasure map and it lead to Nelson Park and as it said on the map to walk 101 steps. We did and we found the chest and to my parents surprise when they opened it they saw bugs, bees and insects! Which are apart of my famous collection...

  1. Kia ora Shreelakshmi,

This is a very creative story, well done! It sounds like you’ve been very busy. Did you do this treasure hunt in real life?

Are the bugs, bees and insects alive? Sounds like a scary treasure to find at the end!

Great work remembering something that Miss Hickling taught you and then using it to complete this activity, very resourceful!

What would you change about your treasure hunt if you had to create it again?

    Keep up the creative work.

    Ngā mihi,
    Lauren

  2. Hi Lauren,
Thank You for commenting on my blog... I really appreciate this so much... Yes I did this treasure hunt in real life with my family. No the bugs, bees and insects are not alive. But my parents were freaked out when they saw it. It was this robotic insects that my friend gave to me a long time ago. If I had to create it again maybe I should put something really rewarding for my parents then just bugs, bees and insects. But the good part is that we actually all had a good time going on the treasure quest like eating ice-cream, climbing a tree and digging also making my dad into a Mermaid with sand. Thank You Once again :) :) :)...

    Kind Regards,

Wow it sounds like you had an awesome time exploring and adventuring! I think would be scared by the bugs too, even if they were fake!

Keep up the awesome mahi, I hope you have enjoyed the Summer Learning Journey.

  3. Kia ora Shreelakshmi,
Wow! This was a great adventure and it is neat that you all enjoyed it.

I really like the effect you did on the photos. The one of Captain Morgans looks like a painting. How did yo do that?
