Summer Learning Journey - I Think I Belong With My Song!!!

I Think I belong with my song what on earth does that mean? I sometimes try to make songs but they don't lead anywhere. I can only write a song with a maximum of four sentences. I'm not really into Poems, Songs or Musical stuff. The only thing I'm good at is making an invention or something. The music career is definitely not a good option for me. I'm more into business I want to be an entrepreneur or a CEO something like that. Sometimes when no-ones watching I like to secretly sing. Do you like singing? I think you might be wondering today's activity is something to do with creating a song. If you thought that then you are right... Today's activity was to learn about what is an clerihew. A clerihew is a whimsical, four-line biographical poem. Did you know that Edmund Clerihew Bentley is the one who invented clerihew. Our create part was to make a clerihew. We could make it on Minecraft, Animation, Scratch or any other thing we learnt in the summer learning journey. I tried to make my clerihew but I didn't get one thing right which is that the first and second lines rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines rhyme with each other. I will change that for next time.  But I still tried my best. I made this on Canva presentation. I hope you like it...

Chris here, again! Tēnā koe for getting involved in another task. You’ve done so many! Glad you gave this a go, even though you’re not into poems or music-centric art.

With that being said, this is incredible! Seriously, well done! Thank you for going into so much detail about the clerihew poem history. And thank you for your lovely video with the music, and the animated words! Truly awesome stuff.

The poem itself is really beautiful as well, where did you get the inspiration for it from? It’s also great to hear you want to do something in business. I like singing as well, but I can’t do it at all!

Looking forward to seeing what you post over these last couple of weeks!

    Ngā mihi!

  2. Hi Chris,
Thank You for commenting on my blog... I really appreciate this so much... I'm glad you like my clerihew and my blog post. I got the inspiration for it from my best friend I graduated elementary school which means I will be going to middle school. My best friend is a year 5 which means she still has one more year left. I LOVE business and creating inventions. You should check out my blog post where I create a Solar Powered Robot Toaster. I like singing too but like you said I can’t do it at all. Thank You Once again :) :) :)...

    Kind Regards,
    Sreelakshmi

  3. Kia ora Sreelakshmi,

No worries at all. That's exciting about starting middle school, your best friend will be there before you know it! I will have a look for that blog post of yours! Also, just to be clear, I said that I can't sing, not that you can't! Haha.

    Ka kite ano,
    Chris
