Can I just say how FUN it was doing and seeing all of the Summer Learning Journey tasks... Even though some were difficult to do... Having a go was the best part and seeing all the wonderful comments just makes my day. Thank You SLJ for this Fantastic opportunity where kids can Learn, Create and Share. So much memories... If I was to talk about my education I would say ''The best education is from the hearts of people and not from a book!'' The SLJ has taught so many valuable lessons like Never ever stop learning because if you stop learning you stop growing... I am so grateful that we get to do the Summer Learning Journey... It has been an awesome experience and I hope going forward this continues. I may have not done such a great attempt at completing the Summer Learning Journey tasks. But I'm glad I tried and gave it a go! This may not be such a good video to show my Thank You to the SLJ. I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your Summer Holidays... Ka Kite!!!

Summer Learning Journey - Who is Simon Summerston?
Do you know who Simon Summerston is? Have you ever seen Simon Summerston? Where is Simon Summerston? Did Simon Summerston lose his bag? Well it's certainly time to find out how and why! Like every other person Simon was preparing for his BIG trip to go to New Zealand. He had already taken his first vaccination and was ready to take his second too... Simon had everything he needed for his BIG trip. But he couldn't find his backpack soon after he had packed everything in. That's why we are here to find out the mystery and who did it! Let me explain to you today's activity... Today's activity was to learn about someone's bag and to use our detective skills to try and find out who the bag belongs to. Our create part was to make an news report to find the owner. But I just made a portfolio about Simon Summerston on google slides. Back to the story! It all started when I got this call for my second vaccination dose. I left my backpack on the couch with my cat Nacho. Little did I know Nacho had mischief under his sleeves. Nacho was up to no good. Since I'm leaving for a trip that means someone has to look after Nacho. So I asked Granny my neighbour to look after him. Sometimes when I'm gone Granny takes care of Nacho. Nacho hates Granny because she treats him like a little baby singing him lullabies and one time Granny actually made him go to sleep in a baby's crib and Nacho absolutely hated every second of it. So this time when I went to get my vaccine I didn't leave Nacho with Granny. But that was a real CAT-astrophe... Nacho knew I was leaving. So that meant he had to stay with Granny until I get back from my BIG trip to New Zealand. So Nacho jumped up on the couch and with his paw slightly moved it to his cat house and sat there. I've gotta be honest that was a very good hiding spot. When I came back the only thing I wanted to do was eat some Nachos and Guacamole with my pet cat Nacho. Nacho knew if he came out I would see my backpack in his cat house. So because Nacho didn't want to come out I gave it to him in his cat house. Nacho my pet cat loves Guacamole and Nachos. Nacho is a very messy eater. I wanted to check if I had everything in my backpack for my BIG trip. I went over to the couch to only find that my backpack was missing! I searched high and low but my backpack was nowhere to be seen. With a bit of hope I called Sreelakshmi the detective. She said she will be here soon. So I waited... I played Amongus to pass the time... She finally came she asked me a few questions like ''Do you know anybody who you think might have done this?'' When she asked this question to me Nacho kept staring and Nacho was acting very SUS at that moment. I looked at Nacho's cat house and I saw crumbs of the Nachos that I gave him. So I thought of cleaning it up. But I didn't think for once that those crumbs might lead to something very BIG. Nacho knew I was heading to his cat house. So when I reached his cat house he gave me a humongus SCRATCH! Oww Oww Oww. I couldn't bear the pain and I rushed to get a bandage. Detective Sreelakshmi looked very closely and saw something under Nacho she picked him up and saw a backpack. She asked me ''Is this your backpack?'' I said ''Yes!'' She told me how she had found this under Nacho. Sadly for Nacho there were security cameras around the house that I installed yesterday. So I saw the whole footage. I kind of felt sad for Nacho so thanks to Detective Sreelakshmi I went to New Zealand with Nacho... Our favourite part was going on walks in the park in New Zealand!

Summer Learning Journey - My Family Found A Treasure Chest With Real Gold...
Gold, Diamonds And Crystals Are So Expensive. If you find even one you might be such a lucky duck! Today my family found something very special... A treasure map. Let me tell you the whole story. Well it started when my parents we going through some old things to find something that could give them money. As you guys know I hate when they do boring stuff like that. So I looked at today's activity and saw one of our tasks was to create a treasure map. So I thought of creating a treasure map and secretly putting the treasure map into my parents company files. So they would stop their boring company organization day and go on a treasure quest. I asked my parents to spend summer FUN with me but they said NO and kept looking through their company files. They saw my treasure map which I printed out. Let me tell you today's activity... Well it's about creating a treasure map and searching it with our family. But my family are always busy. So that's why I thought of creating this sneaky plan. I used this app called PhotoMania. You can use different filters and create a photo of you or a place like in a cartoon, painting or anything else. Miss Hickling my teacher from last year taught us how to use it. So that's how I made my treasure map look like an original sketch. I printed it out and I asked my parents early in the morning if I could go to my friends house and they agreed and I talked to my friend about this and she helped me. We went to different places on my map with her parents permission. This happened before my parents checked their company files. When I arrived at home my parents were looking through and checking their company files and in one they found my treasure map which led to the Botanical Gardens. We had to climb a tree my parents are not such good tree climbers. So I climbed the tree. I got the treasure map and came down. The next part of the treasure map led to Captain Morgan's and it said to order an strawberry ice-cream. So we did and without my parents knowing I put the treasure map deep down under the ice-cream and finally when we finished it we saw the next part of the treasure map which led to Waikanae Beach. So we ran over and got into digging and found the last part of the treasure map and it lead to Nelson Park and as it said on the map to walk 101 steps. We did and we found the chest and to my parents surprise when they opened it they saw bugs, bees and insects! Which are apart of my famous collection...

Summer Learning Journey - There's A Woman In A Gown In My Town!!!
Who is she? Why is she there? Why does she look like a boy? Is that a cat in disguise? Well it's certainly the time to find out! Maybe it's a secret agent working to steal valuable items. One valuable item is the key to the town... It is only given to the mayor. The key to the town has been passed on for centuries. It is always kept in the town hall in a secured safe box with a secret password. But it has been stolen by someone and I think it's the cat. First we asked Catrina the mayor's best friend but Catrina replied ''I was walking in the park with the mayor.'' Then we questioned the cat so we asked the cat about anything the cat knew about this but the cat simply replied ''I was in the diner all morning working on my new novel and eating cranberry donuts.'' Lastly, We asked the mayor's landlord about anything he knew but he replied ''I was just taking pictures of birds and anything else going on around town.'' Today's activity is something to do with making a town map you might be wondering. We had to learn about the different types of lines on a road. Our create part was to make a map of my town or an imaginary town. I choose to make an imaginary town. We also had to use different types of lines and shapes which are listed on the my town template. I found it difficult to get an idea of how I could create my imaginary town. For next time I should add a dental clinic, Carnaval and a desert. Well back to the story! We didn't have much to go on so we thought of getting a quick snack at Jerry's diner and looking through some of the landlords photos. The landlord was bird watching and taking photos that we thought were about to break the case. There was this one photo which we laughed at a lot the landlord sat on a pile of leaves and was wiping his butt. I asked the waitress to give me a cranberry donut. But the waitress replied that ''we hadn't had those in weeks!'' ''But the cat said he was here all morning eating cranberry donuts and working on his novel!'' The waitress said ''not here he didn't'' We immediately ran to the mayor and informed him this. We were talking in his car about what we thought was going on. When you left the town hall to go on a walk in the park with Catrina. The cat snuck in and stole the key avoiding the landlords camera and stashed the key somewhere safe. Suddenly the cat approached and had a box and gave it to a mysterious person wearing a suit and glasses. We catched the cat and took him inside and questioned him one more time. The mysterious person burst in through the door and says ''Stop you've got the wrong cat!'' The mysterious person reveals herself and to the friends shock they see Catrina. Catrina told them the true story full of lies, tasty desserts and sweets. I wanted to make something special for the mayor. So I thought of making a special mayor send off cake. So I hid the cake in the same place where the mayor always puts the key safe in the mayor's safe. I used the same code the mayor always uses and put the cake in there which I found was a terrible idea when the mayor said ''Better get to town hall to check if the key is in they same spot where I left it as safe in mayor's safe!'' The mayor was about to find my cake so I called the only person who could get it in time the cat. Well that explains everything. The mayor said ''Except for one thing which is that I still don't know where the key to the town is!.'' Catrina threw away the cake and left. I looked at the photos of the landlord sitting on a pile of leaves and wiping his butt. We looked outside and saw the key in trash. I said to my best friend ''Like a leaf stuck to the landlords butt that key was stuck on the bottom of the cake. Now all we need to do is get the key back and then our mayor's reputation will be saved. ''Oh wait it's garbage day!" We rode a bicycle and chased the garbage truck and finally we reached the front of the garbage truck and threw a huge chunk of garbage which made the garbage truck stop and the cake with the key flung out and reached the mayor's hand. The mayor's reputation was saved and a new cake was made... So that's the story!

Summer Learning Journey - Your Dish Is My Wish Command...
Tasty or Yucky! Sometime dishes are tasty or yucky... Today's meal is cooked by a highly professional cook who only cooks very very exquisite food. On today's menu is Roasted Cicadas with Salad. The cook has made this with the mind of art as you can see. The tomato's are finely fresh and chopped. The onions certainly have a deliciously with each and every bite. The chinese cabbage also known as Bok choy is one of the finest vegetables. The cicadas are deep roasted so they are crispy and crunchy. I'm guessing you guys might be wondering that today's activity is about food or something to do with cicadas well that is right. Today we were learning about cicadas and how so many people in the world eat cicadas. Did you know that cicadas have one of the longest insect lifespans? Our create part was to make our very own dish with cicadas in it. Did you know in france people eat snails? Remember not to eat bugs or snails outside your garden because they might be poisonous. Have you ever ate any insects before? The difficult part for me was to set out my dish and get an idea of how I could make it. The master behind this amazing dish is SREELAKSHMI! Do you like my dish? Tell me in the comments...

Summer Learning Journey - The Magic Of Solar Energy...
Another Fun Adventure Awaits Today... Don't you think it's annoying when you have to wait 1-4 minutes waiting for your toast to be ready? Well I do... So that's why I thought of creating a Solar Powered Robot Toaster! If your tired of waiting for your bread to become toast well this is just the thing for you. The Solar Powered Robot Toaster can make your bread below 30 seconds. You need to make sure that when you want to make toast you must expose the Solar Powered Robot Toaster to the sun. If you are not making toast then do not leave the Solar Powered Robot Toaster out where the sunlight is. This thing is good if you are going out on a camping trip. Let's get straight into today's activity... Today we were learning about how we can make something useful to help us at home like cleaning, washing dishes or helping us go to sleep. Our create part was to get an idea that could help us create our robot with anything we needed help with. So I decided to make my robot into a Solar Powered Robot Toaster. I have my blueprints of my Solar Powered Robot Toaster on my second slide and on the first is the full look of my Solar Powered Robot Toaster. One Interesting fact that I found was that this toaster is actually a robot. I would like to add an energy saving battery to my toaster to save the solar energy so that if there is no sun, we can still make toast and I have forgotten to mention earlier in my google slides about the importance of conductor wires which play a big role to convert the sunlight which absorbed by solar panel to electricity. The conductor wires connected to the solar panel and this silver conductor connected to the play-doh which transmits electricity to make the toast. I used Science and Engineering to create my Solar Powered Robot Toaster... Do you like my Solar Powered Robot Toaster? Tell me in the comments!
